You’ll Be in God’s Heart

This toddler of mine has me all messed up, especially at bedtime. One night, I had a particularly hard time getting her to sleep, so I decided to do something I did when she was in her infancy: sing.

The song I chose is one of my favorites: “You’ll be in My Heart” by Phil Collins. I enjoy singing this song because of the Disney movie it reminds me of, and yes, I am a Disney girl at heart. As I start to sing the chorus, my daughter starts singing with me. I am, of course, shocked. I don’t sing the song enough for her to learn the words, but she’s singing along. Hearing her sing filled me with so much joy.

God is equally as excited when we repeat the promises He has given us.

Numbers 23:19 says,
God is not man, that he should lie,
or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

It can sometimes be difficult to believe that someone loves us as much as God does. This world has told us so many lies that echo in our minds and hearts.

That’s why repeating God’s promises every day is crucial. Our own mind can be dangerous at times. Why not fill it with the words of our good, good Father? He loves you so much, and you are always on His mind and in His heart.

Give God the chance to love and heal all the hurt you carry. He’s doing it for so many people, and He’s doing it for me. No matter your circumstances, God can love you where you are. You are not too much for God, so bring every burden you have to Him.

Prayer: Thank You, God, for Your love. This underserving writer knows the mercy You show daily. Even in my disobedience, Your heart for me hasn’t changed. I am so grateful that there’s nothing I can do to deserve Your love. You give that freely. Please continue to sing Your heart song to me. Allow me to be Your vessel and carry it to Your people. God, I pray for your child reading this today. Let them come to know Your heart for them. Let them know that Your love is unconditional. Remind them of Your promises, and no matter what You will never break those promises. In the name of Jesus, I pray.

Sincerely Your Sister,

JJJ.
