I Know I Am Loved

My daughter and I have this thing that started when she was tiny. I will sing lyrics from “The Princess and The Frog” and she pays attention when I say her name instead of Evangeline. Last week, she started to say the ending of her name when I am singing it. She knows that when I sing “Je t’adore, je t’aime…” I’m talking to her. Without knowing what the words mean, she senses the affection in my voice when I sing it. It makes her smile and walk towards me.

1 Peter 2:9-10 was on my journal entry page:
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”

There was a point when God had chosen the Israelites to be His chosen people. After Jesus died for us, He gave the world the opportunity to become apart of God’s family.

Just like my call to my daughter, God is calling to you. “I adore you. I love you.” God is calling out your name. You are chosen for greater. You have been adopted. Yes, you are the one God picked. You have the love of our Creator.

Accept this love with open arms. When God calls out, know that your name is on His lips. He has loved you from the very beginning, and He will love you forever.

Sincerely Your Sister,

JJJ.
